“Evel” Knievel

Perhaps the most well-known daredevil is motorcyclist Robert Craig “Evel” Knievel, whose sensational motorcycle jumps – and spectacular crashes – made him famous. His most anticipated jump took place over the fountain at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas – a distance of 151 feet. Knievel made it over the fountain but landed badly and flew from his motorcycle, resulting in a 29-day hospital stay.
